Some jump right into web purchases and downloading courses.  Others feel more comfortable seeing a step-by-step view of every screen between purchase and getting CE credit.  If this is you, I made a YouTube video of me going through the entire process.  Below the video are also step-by-step screen shots that show you everything between purchase and getting CE credit.

The screens you will see:

A PDF of the course opens.  I recommend that you save it to your computer so that it is easy to use as a reference in your office and when you take the test.

4.5 save course

After you save the PDF, click the back arrow to the previous page and click on “GO TO EXAMS”

5 Go to exams

I can’t show you an actual exam question until you purchase a course, but below is a sample.  This question asks for the name of the course’s author.

6 sample quiz question

This is an open-book exam.  If you do not remember the answer to a question, you can open the pdf document and search for the answer.  Here I clicked on Ctrl-F to activate the “Find” function and typed in “Dwight M..”  This took me to the first place in the course where “Dwight M.” is located. By doing this, I can see that the correct answer in this case was “c. Kealy.”

7 sample searching

After you have completed the exam for your course, click to submit your answers.  You will be notified immediately whether or not you received a passing score of 70%.  If you do not receive a passing score, you can take it again as many times as needed.  Once you receive a passing score, our office will receive an email instructing us that you passed.  We then notify the California Department of Insurance. CE credit is updated with the Department of Insurance on the same day students pass a test. CE credit often appears on the student’s license within an hour of taking a test.  Below is a sample of a license from someone who took both the Ethics (4 hours) and Additional Insureds (5 hours) courses.

Student Comments:

Thank you for the class!  I read the material and I find it to be extremely useful.  I will be referring back to it often. -CR

Choosing GoGetCE is a no-brainer. The site is a breeze to navigate, the materials are well-written (even entertaining!) and the exams are straightforward. Who knew insurance could be so much fun! -TM

I clicked on your ad in Google when I did a search.  After my exam I told a colleague about your site. -AD

Testing was not easy but wasn’t too difficult either.  It was very good continuing education program and the price was right. -FG

Thank you very much for updating my information on the California Department of Insurance.  I was so impressed with the fast & courteous service you provided.   I have shared your information with other managers here at ______ to share with their departments.  I look forward to using your website in the future. -LC

I am not sure why the credits are not being applied? I just checked online again and it says 0 credits applied for ethics… -MM [GoGetCE response: This happened because MM took the CE after her license expired.  The credit did appear, but she had to coordinate with the Department of insurance.  If you want the CE to apply for your license renewal, please make sure that you do the CE before your license expiration date].

The course was very interesting. I read every word. It was a nice, entertaining and informative course. Thanks. –MDL

[The book title says] that this book MAY BE ELIGIBLE for continuing education from the department of insurance in your state ..So how can one be sure? –MDL [GoGetCE response: All three current courses are approved for insurance CE credit in California. I say that the books “may be eligible…in your state” because I do not know where my books will end up or in what states I may one day request approval.]

I just completed two of your books on Commercial General Liability and Additional Insureds which I found very helpful!   I’m strongly recommending them to others in our agency, especially those that deal with contractors. -DM
